Today was my first time in Sanford. And my kids and i stopped by pet smart there to purchase some items for our new puppy. I have NEVER met a staff so friendly in my life. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The store manager named Jeff came right on over to help us. He was the greatest. He helped us pick out the right products and saved us a ton of money. I recommend this store to anybody who needs some pet supplies.
Just recently moved to the area and my dogs are on the hills rx diet. It is hard to find the 27.5 bag of this, so I called ahead. I live in the middle of no where so this store is not right up the road for me. But the woman on the phone states they have it. So I go up there and all they have is a small bag, this is why I called to begin with. Have 2 large dogs so I need the large 27.5 lbs bag. So I have to buy a small bag and when I get to the register the girl barely speaks and texts on her phone instead of engaging in conversation with her customer. I will be ordering online from now on....
I went in one day, and was browsing and happened upon their lizard habitats. Which, by the way, none had any food in them, and some of those lizards need access to food all the time. Their leopard geckos are extremely unhealthy looking, with small tails and a scared disposition. So, I saw they were advertising "fancy" leopard geckos. I asked, they gave me a bad answer and the lady who helped me didn't seem to know what she was talking about. I know this fancy leopard geckos thing is a sham. Because after going in on another day, another employee pointed out different geckos as the fancy type. I am unsatisfied that they are scamming people out of money to charge them ten bucks extra for a fancy vs. Non-fancy leopard gecko. It is a shame. Will try my best to avoid this sad excuse for a pet store in the future.
